Zach Tomesh
Zach Tomesh is a Rice Lake native and a graduate of Rice Lake High in 2013. Growing up and throughout high school, he played hockey, football, and baseball. He was also a member of the high school trap shooting team. After high school he attended the University of Wisconsin—La Crosse and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. In 2014 he enlisted as a Public Affairs Specialist with the Wisconsin Army National Guard. He achieved the rank of Sergeant after graduating from the Basic Leader Course at Fort McCoy with honors. While in the service, he participated in training exercises in South Korea and deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Upon returning from Cuba in 2019, he began law school that fall at Mitchell Hamline School of Law. In the summer after his 1L year he worked as a law clerk for the Barron County Circuit Court. He joined Thrasher, Pelish & Heaney in the fall of 2020 as a law clerk working part-time during the school year and full-time in the summer.
In 2022 he obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from Mitchell Hamline graduating cum laude. His scope of practice includes insurance and personal injury litigation, workers’ compensation, real estate transactions and litigation, and business formation. In the community he serves as a board member on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Barron County and provides mentoring opportunities through the Rice Lake High School internship program. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family in addition to hunting, fishing, and training for the Birkie.
